REWAREWA HONEY
the Rewarewa nectar from our beautiful new site inland from us towards Puhoi. where the
native Rewarewa are alongside our hives, and prevalent in the thick bush covering the mountainsides.
The flavour is divine.. malty treacle and rich, with a woody cinnamon finish. The flower bracts
of the Native Honeysuckle are crimson red, delivering a tasty nectar the bees love to collect.
In the past it has been more a Manuka Rewarewa blend. This year it is more pure,
and we are excited to realise it is reknowned for its medicinal and probiotic properties.
Still untested, but it is known to have the peroxide activity, like our Manuka .. which helps in healing and fighting bacteria. Rewarewa Honey is also high in anti-oxidants for dealing with free radicals in the body, and found to have strong anti-inflammatory properties.
